You can connect to your school Desktop using this Remote Web Connection page. This page will set up a connection for Windows 2000 and XP operation systems using Internet Explorer. If you are running Vista or Mac Operating Systems go to alternate connection methods.

 

Click Connect.

When connecting for the first time a program is downloaded onto your computer.  This can take up to five minutes depending on your internet connection.

When the connection page opens, you can add it to your Favorites for easy connection to the same computer.

 
  

  




   
Alternate Connection Method

Windows Vista: Connecting to a Remote Desktop

Open Remote Desktop Connection by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, and then clicking Remote Desktop Connection.

Enter: term-server.cathedral.qld.edu.au in the Computer list Box.

Enter your User Name and Password

Note: You can also open Remote Desktop Connection by typing "mstsc" in the Search box on the Start menu.



Mac OS X: Connecting to a Remote Desktop

To connect to your Cathedral Remote Desktop you will need to install: Remote Desktop Connection Client 1.0.3 for Mac

Remote Desktop Connection Client 1.0.3 for Mac allows you to connect to a Windows-based computer and work with programs and files on that computer from your Macintosh computer.

You can download a copy of Remote Desktop Connection Client 1.0.3 from:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/products/remote-desktop/default.mspx

Note:

Before you install this download: Depending on the file format you choose to download, make sure StuffIt Expander version 6 or later and Apple Disk Copy version 10.1 or later are installed on your computer. By default, Mac OS X includes the correct versions of these programs.


To install this download:

On your hard disk, double-click RDC103EN.dmg to expand it using StuffIt Expander.

Depending on the Web browser that you are currently using, this step might be performed for you automatically.

Double-click the RDC103EN.dmg file you downloaded to mount the Remote Desktop Connection volume.

On the Desktop, open the Remote Desktop Connection volume.

Copy the Remote Desktop Connection folder from the Remote Desktop Connection volume to your hard disk.

If the Remote Desktop Connection folder was copied to your hard disk successfully, you can move the Remote Desktop Connection volume, the .dmg file, and the original file you downloaded (if present) to the Trash.

To complete the installation, run the program by opening the Remote Desktop Connection folder that you copied to your hard disk, and then double-click Remote Desktop Connection.

To remove this download:

To remove Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac, move the Remote Desktop Connection folder to the Trash, and then on the Finder menu, click Empty Trash.
